NEW BIKE YAMAHA YZ250F!
May2007
I do not know what I have to do to remain injury free! I have decided to play soccer again on Sundays. This was to help my fitness levels and it was starting to show benefits from the extra training as well as the gym work I had been doing. Unfortunately I came off worst in a clash last Sunday (13th!) that has left me with a fractured wrist meaning I will miss the next club round at Nunawading and will drastically affect my ability to get back to full race fitness before the next Gippsland round. This will not deter me in any way and as soon as I can I will get back on the bike and try to make the best out of the year given all the bad luck we have had so far! Let's hope that the three weeks plus physio go quickly.
March 23rd 2007:
At last I can look forward to racing again. I had the cast removed on Monday and all looks good for a return to racing in a few weeks time. Before that can happen I need to get the full movement back in my arm and will be doing some physio and remedial therapy over the next week or so. This means that I can also get back in training for my Karate 1st Dan grading which will all help towards getting back on the bike sooner rather than later. At this time I hope to race my first meeting in around four weeks time at the Gippsland Centre second round at Korumburra.

Great News.
Today we have managed to secure Hogs Breath Cafe Sponsorship. Further details will follow but they have commited to helping out team Kai for the forseeable future.
That's Piggin great news!
February 19th 2007
Visited the orthopeadic today for a follow up x-ray. It seems that I am suffering from a small amount of bleeding around the join because it is not immobilised. As a result I am now in a half cast from up near my shoulder round to the wrist meaning that I cannot now move the elbow and do any more damage. This cast is on for four weeks and hopefully if this works I can be back on the bike soon after.

Today at NDMX the stutters were pretty bad! You had to get that one perfect line right or you were in trouble. Unfortunately it began to rain. On my next outing I did not hit this magic line and came off slamming myself pretty hard into the next stutter landing on my face and elbow.
As soon as I went to stand up I knew I was in trouble!
We called the ambo and I was taken to hospital where x-rays revealed that I have broken my right elbow in three places. They reckon I will be out for 2 - 3 months. Hopefully it is much less and I look forward to being back in the saddle much sooner.
January/February 2007
After much discussion we finally opted to go blue this year and purchase a 2007 model YZ 125. At the moment the suspension is being set up for me at Chad's Offroad. In the next couple of weeks/months I will be doing some training with Taylor Potter to a) make me faster and b) get my 5 hours of training on the 125 so I can race it in the MA rounds.
November 2006
Well that is pretty much it for this year. We have the club two day event next week and after that it is time to get the KTM SX85 freshened up for next years Gippsland series and look at purchasing a 125 to practice for the step up in 2008 by competing in both classes in 2007.
I have learnt a great deal this year in my first efforts at racing and look forward to a more consistant year ahead.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their help and advice through the year and hope that I can give them some payback on the track.
Coaching:

Without all of you there would be nothing to ride and nowhere to ride it.

October 2006:
1. Achieved long term ambition of completing my Shodan Ho (Black Belt). Now looking forward to gaining my First Dan by this time next year
2. Finally cracked the back double in club championship round. Here's to some faster lap times! Some pictures soon.
September 2006:
Attended the Lee Hogan building champions school. Further training in technique and skills has improved my starts and cornering speeds. Lee is an excellent teacher who has the ability to put forward his knowledge in a way that riders of all levels will understand. A must for all riders wanting to improve their skills and race position.
September 2006:
Having obtained my MA License I am now competing in the Gippsland series under the #495. With a little more experience I would like to enter more races around Victoria and perhaps state rounds by the end of next year.
June 2006:
Following some excellent coaching from Mike "Reefy" Reefman I can now confidently jump the canyons and in a recent round of the club championships this resulted in a third place overall.
I now have a good chance of winning B grade races and finishing in the top three consistantly.
